Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how REITwave (“REITwave,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, retains, and protects information when you use our website, applications, APIs, add-ins, account features, alerts, and related services (the “Services”). It also explains how promotional email consent works. By using the Services, you acknowledge this Policy. Where required, we will obtain consent or provide additional notices.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account and authentication data: email address, name, avatar, provider identifier, login and session information, company, job title, and plan or entitlement details.
- Lead and contact data: email, source, requested feature or intent, referral details, and the date and status of any marketing consent or withdrawal.
- Transaction data: plan, billing cycle, invoices, payment status, tax information, and limited payment identifiers supplied by payment processors. We do not intend to store full payment-card numbers.
- Support and communications: messages, feedback, survey responses, and records of requests or preferences.
- User-submitted content: watchlists, portfolio inputs, alerts, queries, notes, exports, and other content you choose to provide.
Information collected automatically
We may collect IP address, approximate location derived from IP, browser and device type, operating system, language, pages and features used, referring URLs, timestamps, crash information, interaction events, cookie or local-storage identifiers, and security logs. We use this information for authentication, fraud prevention, performance, analytics, personalization, and product improvement.
Information from other sources
We may receive information from identity providers, payment processors, analytics and infrastructure providers, data licensors, public filings, newswires, referrals, and business contacts. Public market, company, property, filing, and news information is not necessarily personal data, but we handle associated account and usage records under this Policy.
2. How we use information
We use information to: provide, authenticate, personalize, maintain, and secure the Services; process subscriptions and support; deliver requested alerts and exports; respond to inquiries; detect abuse, fraud, and security incidents; troubleshoot and measure performance; understand feature usage; develop and improve models and products; comply with law and enforce our agreements; communicate service, billing, safety, and policy notices; and, where permitted and based on your choices, send promotional communications.
3. Legal bases and choices
Depending on location, we process information because it is necessary to perform a contract, to comply with legal obligations, for legitimate interests such as security and product improvement, or with consent. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing. Some data is required to provide an account or paid feature; if you do not provide it, that feature may not work.
4. Promotional email and unsubscribe
When you select a separate marketing checkbox or otherwise give a legally valid opt-in, we may send product announcements, educational research, events, discounts, partner offers, and similar promotional content. We record the consent event, source, version of the notice, and timestamp where our systems support that record. You can unsubscribe using the link in any marketing email or by writing to privacy@reitwave.com. We may retain a suppression record—usually your email and opt-out date—to ensure we do not contact you again. Unsubscribing does not cancel an account or stop non-promotional transactional messages required to operate it.
5. Cookies, local storage, and similar technologies
We use essential cookies or local storage for sessions, preferences, security, and app functionality. We may use analytics or performance technologies to understand aggregate usage and diagnose problems. Browser settings can block or delete some technologies, but doing so may break sign-in or features. If a consent banner is required for a particular technology or region, your choices are handled through that banner or the applicable provider controls.
6. How we share information
We may share information with service providers that host, secure, analyze, authenticate, bill, email, support, or operate the Services; data and content providers whose services you request; professional advisers; business partners where you direct us; affiliates or a successor in a merger, financing, acquisition, or asset sale; and authorities or other parties when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights, investigate abuse, or prevent harm.
We do not sell personal information for money. We do not share your email with unrelated advertisers for their independent email campaigns. Service providers may process information only under instructions and their own legal obligations. Public or aggregated information that cannot reasonably identify you may be used for research, reporting, benchmarking, and product improvement.
7. International processing
REITwave and its providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate transfer mechanisms and safeguards. By using the Services, you understand that infrastructure and providers may operate across borders.
8. Retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Services, maintain business and security records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, comply with legal and accounting obligations, and honor communication preferences. Retention varies by data type, account status, legal requirements, and operational need. Backups and suppression lists may persist for a limited period after deletion.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information, such as access controls, encrypted transport, logging, and limited personnel access. No internet transmission or storage system is guaranteed secure. Do not send passwords, payment-card numbers, private keys, or highly sensitive information through ordinary support channels.
10. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent; and opt out of marketing. To make a request, email privacy@reitwave.com from the address associated with the account and describe the request. We may verify identity, request clarification, and apply lawful exceptions. You may have the right to appeal a denied request or contact your local data-protection authority.
11. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child provided information, contact privacy@reitwave.com so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate. Some jurisdictions apply a higher age threshold; we follow applicable law.
12. Do-not-track and browser signals
Because there is no consistent industry standard, our Services may not respond to every browser “Do Not Track” signal. Where applicable law recognizes a browser-based privacy signal as a valid opt-out, we will honor it for the processing to which that law applies.
13. Business customers
If your employer or organization provides access, that organization may control the account, content, and administrative settings. It may access or manage business accounts under its agreement with us. A written data-processing agreement or customer privacy notice may supplement this Policy for business use.
14. Changes and contact
We may update this Policy as the Services or law changes. We will post the revised version and update the effective date; material changes receive reasonable notice where required. Questions, rights requests, complaints, and privacy notices may be sent to privacy@reitwave.com. General legal notices may be sent to legal@reitwave.com.
